Following his performance at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where he premiered his composition “Mirage Unseen”
As a composer, Mr. Sherwin has received commissions from Independent Curators International, the Connecticut Office of the Arts, YoungArts, the Sundays at 5 Concert Series, The Town of North Haven, the Bruce Museum of Art, and others. He was also a featured composer at the “The Passing Show” produced by Unsung Musicals Co. at the Pershing Square Signature Center. In concert, he frequently premieres and performs his own compositions for guitar on solo and chamber music recitals.

In collaborations, he has composed scores for films that have been Official Selections at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, the Palm Springs International ShortFest, the NYC Chain Film Festival, among others. In 2022, he served on the jury for the Best Music Category at the Miami Film Festival.
He has performed his original compositions twice at the University of Cambridge with violist Mark Bailey. Following his interests in the legacy of American guitarists, composers, and songwriters, Kevin has also worked for Steve Miller and the Sailor Music Group, in association with Jazz at Lincoln Center, researching blues guitarists and their styles of the early and mid-20th century. With his interests in American folk music, he collaborated with vocalist Joshua Banbury to record an album of new arrangements and original compositions called “Forgotten Folklore,” which shares the stories and music of America’s forgotten communities.

Mr. Sherwin studied at Yale University, where graduated with Honors. Previously, he graduated from the Pre-College Division of The Juilliard School, studying with Tali Roth. He continued his studies in guitar with Christopher Ladd and conducting with Mark Bailey. Mr. Sherwin is a Fellow at Timothy Dwight College, Yale University.
